Well, a quick internet search later and I realized that if I have a 3DS with custom firmware I can patch my NA copy to have the sountrack I remember from the PS2 days!! So I did it and it's FRIGGIN awesome. I was a bit bummed because there are so many good things about the 3DS version but that synthesized sountrack is just soooo inferior to the orchestrated one.
